Our Fiber Placement Systems (FPS) combine the advantages of tape laying and filament winding with advanced computer control and software. With 7 axes of motion, the machines are particularly suited to highly contoured structures such as cowls, ducts, fuselage sections, pressure tanks, nozzle cones, tapered casings, fan blades, spars and "C" channels.
Controlled by CM-100, the industry’s only computer control designed exclusively for composites manufacturing, the FPS reduces fiber placement processing time and provides consistent part-to-part quality. High contours, variable wall thickness, and cutout sections are all produced to near net configuration. Less material is wasted in the initial layup and postprocess machining and material removal operations are reduced. Scrap savings in the range of 65% are achieved.
