The V5-4000 Bridge-Type Vertical Machining Center is designed to meet the growing demand for 5-axis machining of large parts typically produced on profilers at lower speeds and feeds. Modular in design, the V5-4000 combines the best components from the V5-2000 and V5-3000 Vertical Machining Centers and U5 Universal Machining Center to deliver proven reliability at an extremely competitive price.
The V5-4000 offers an X-axis range of 4m (160") and a Y-axis of 2m (80"), almost three times the Y-axis range of typical C-frame-design machines. The expansion of the Y-axis with the bridge design will enable the machining of aluminum plate for aircraft parts such as bulkheads, spars and floor beams.
The V5-4000 comes standard with a powerful 35 Hp S6 duty-rated with 15,000 rpm, HSK-63A spindle, with an option of a 24,000-rpm high speed spindle. The machine is powered by the Siemens 840D control.
Chip evacuation is superior with high-performance, high-capacity dual rear-delivery chip conveyors and coolant flush system. The enclosure that envelops the work area contains the chips and coolant splash generated by high-speed cuts, while the 21-tool capacity automatic tool exchanger “parks” outside the work area to help keep tools free of chips and coolant.
